A set of antique German Putz miniature cardboard houses, which are a type of miniature holiday decoration that became popular in the 18th century in Germany. The word "Putz" comes from the German word "putzen," meaning "to decorate" or "adorn". Putz houses were originally part of nativity scenes, known as Krippen or Christmas gardens. Families used natural materials like moss, twigs, stones, and wood to create these scenes. These houses are popular collectibles and are often displayed during the Christmas season. However these houses do mot necessarily have a Christmas theme so could be displayed all year! They average 2”’tall & wide. They are precious!
